Angry F**k you poteat's engine rebuilding

Ok so i was reffered to poteats engine rebuilding in Kannapolis by a friend who said they did good work at good price. So i took my ZC down there just to have them look at it to see how much they would build it for. But they kept insisting that i leave it reassuring that they would do me right and set me up on a payment plan. I already had pistons but they bought most of the other stuff so they charged me for it. It took them 2 YEARS to build a damn ZC that all they did was bore it .20 over to match my low comp pistons and put eagle rods in it and polish/balance the crank. They said not to pay it off until they were done and after about 6 months i paid it off thinkin they would do if faster, but it took them another year and a half to finish. They were supposed to port and polish and oversized valves, at least i was charged for it. I was also charged for a new oil pump and the valves and everything of course. Along with them putting it back together and setting it in time. I was at the beach on my vacation at the time when i finally got them to finish and a good friend of mine went to pick it up. We had talked about getting a break in period warranty at least because i told him it was gonna be a turbo motor. He says fine and blah blah. So when it got picked up he told my friend we said no warranty so he signed it off and everything. When i got home to look at it the only thing done was pistons rod and crank and head bolted on. Not set in time, my old oil pump he "rebuilt" and lots of stuff missing that he lost (oil pan, timing tensioner and miscelaneous bolts and crank sprocket). So finally put it in an get it running and for the last 200 miles it been fine. Ive been babying it without the turbo and i noticed the oil light start flickering at idle. No biggie thought just needed more oil. Well that helped for about 30 miles when i started hearing a knockin sound and the oil light flickering again. Been getting worse so i parked it again with a rod knocking and a F'd up oil pump. Theres nothing he will do to refund or even put bearings in it. So i say DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING TO POTEATS AS THEY WILL F YOUR S**T UP!

Wow. 2 years. How much did you pay them?

Yes, i will never take anything back to them or anybody i dont really know. I took my car down to Tex down at BRE. Hes doing my boys hatch which was b20 turbo, but some issues came up that screwed up the motor. So they are completely doing a new setup for him. Their cool guys down there and i know a few other ppl that they have done work for and are really satisfied with them. Im going to try and sell my turbo integra to fund me the money to get everything redone and done right so check out the cars FS thread to check it out. BTW thanks for the advice everyone about the lawyer
