Default B16: All Stock - E85 Dyno Tune

This car belongs to Zac. He's one of our mechanics. His Del Sol has a stock B16 swap, down to the stock air box and stock header. He's currently made the switch over to E85, and is obviously having great luck with it.

Here is the setup:
Stock B16
DSM 450cc injectors
Tuned on Crome Gold

Most stock B16 swaps make around 135-145 whp on our dyno. By making the switch to E85, we were able to run a good bit more ignition timing, and the results are good. We were able to make up for most of the power lost through the drive train. On this pull, we stopped at 7600 RPM, because power was dropping off, and there was no reason to keep going.

And the video:

E85 is a great option!

It's cheaper than gasoline, burns cooler, resists pre-detonation very well, and is good for earth too! It's basically race gas at the pump.

Obviously, you can't just fill up with E85 and make power. You have to have the fuel system and the tune to support it, but we're recommending E85 to all of our customers, both NA and FI.

^ all of the Spinx stations and the Hickory Point stations near us keep E85. Before long, I think that all gas stations will offer it. Also, as side note, all of the local stations that I've checked with have changed over to winter blend E85.

From us, obviously. The distributor I get my engines from only sells wholesale and provides some really clean parts.

very impressive, E85 help a lot. WHP is pretty close to stock crank hp and not only that it a stock motor.

Yes, I got the swap from our stock at TDC. The motor feels great, only down side to this whole thing is that I have an LS tranny, but if I decide to boost then it will be great! I will hopefully have a few more tricks up my sleeve and see how far this goes before I boost but I know one thing, I'm sticking with E85.
