Default Need Help! d16y8 head on sohc zc block! please!

So i have a 97 civic coupe ex. I threw a rod so I stripped zc to block slapped it in the coupe, now every thing i read online was as easy as pie. What about the crankshaft position sensor, not on my zc block or the knock sensor. DO I need either of those and if i do how do I go about fixing crank situation? also zc and y8 timing belt does not fit because driver side mount blocks tensioner! I need help guys I have until 10 tonight to finish! thanks guys!

I wasnt aware you could do this. Anywho, I would shun against this if your in NC due to the sensor problem. youll have a bitch of a time passing emissions. You can always do the bypass for the crank sensor.

As far as the knock, there is a hack for that too, but I am not sure if it really works. And as for the timing belt, have you tried using the cam gear from the ZC? I dont know if that will work, but its an idea.

use the y8 timing belt. you can also wire in an obd1 sohc non vtec distributor in to get around the ckp as well. the knock......drill and tap the block. did you also remember to remove the oil restricter from the zc block?

Default Still no luck!

THanks for input guys! SO i used a 95 civic d15 non vtec timing belt. i bought a 97 d16y8 belt and to short so I swap cam gear and crankshaft pulley but no luck, so i took belt to autozone and mixed and matched! Well crank trick is good but no way I am cutting wires again, to many problems with that. It's all back together just not starting I think I a couple teeth off on the belt. If anyone has any ideas I appreciate them! And again thanks guys!

make sure u use the water pipe from the y8 block because the z6 water temp sensor is on the block n the y8 is on the rear water pipe. The thread to the knock sensor might be the same thread as the water temp sensor. If it is i would just swap it out
