Default Coilovers or springs?

95 Gsr

Currently has Bilstein shocks with H&R sports springs (1" drop")

Picked up some Skunk2 adjustable coilovers..........

I put the skunk2's on and the bottom piece is loose.....the part with the adjusters on it.........just isnt a tight fit........was a little better on the stock shocks they were originally on.

Havent put em on the car yet.........doing some other mods while I'm in there.

Anybody running these or have any suggestions? Think they will be safe once I take the car off the stands? Will they make any noises while riding? THANKS!!!!!

My brother in law has them on his del slo and they don't make any weird noises on his car. I drove it a few times its a pretty good ride.

they have a lot of back and forth movement........on the adjustable piece.

The bilstein shocks allow more movement when uncompressed than the oem shocks do......

there are rubber o-rings on the oem's with the skunk2's and I put them on the bilsteins......

Anyway my real question here is......

When the shocks are mounted and I am driving down the road, will the spring perch move back and forth too much, making noises or causing harm?

Again.....the perch (adjustable piece the springs sit on) is looser on the bilstein's than they are on the Oem shocks......allows more side to side movement of the perch on the shock.
THANKS

uhhhhh.......we are talking about different things......I am talking about the piece that comes with the coilovers.....part that has the adjusting pieces and the springs sit on top of....
This piece is loose once on the shock and can wiggle side to side more than the oem shock allowed..........
I need to know if this may be ok or what.......I dont want to put em on and f*ck em up and have to put the H&R springs back on

i prefer springs over adjustable coilover sleeves. i had an EM1 with Tokico Illuminas and Skunkworks coilovers (yeah before Skunk 2.. cause i'm an O.G.).. rode great but made noises. so if given the choice i'll use a spring shock combination or a 1-piece full coilover setup.

Its a possibility it would make noise, sleeve coil-overs are all kind of cheap in a way, even if you get baller ones.

I'd have to agree with Matt on this one, but Im also a sucker for slammed rides...

If it does make noise it would prob. only be over bumps and when you have to go up steep inclines or downhills, Like pulling out of parking lot's and etc. I had omni power sleeves on my hatch and it would make a ridiculous popping noise on the passenger rear when pulling into really steep parking lots. I couldnt never figure it out, but it never caused any harm. I double checked everything.
