IT's all good. When I wire up the fuel pump kill switch, no RELAY is required. Cost of material.......under $6 including tax. What happens when a relay goes bad and you don't have an extra one in the car.....you're stuck.

true, but relays rarely go bad. there is a higher chance that a toggle switch will go bad than a relay
thats why us installers choose relays over switches on just about everything. im sure vegas10 will agree with me on this

all depends on how you look at it, one is and electromagnet(relay) and the other is simply a piece of metal that connects two poles together(toggle)

the argument can be made all day long but every car manufacturer uses BOTH of these in their cars so either way you look at it they both are meant to last.

I would have to disagree. I had a relay go bad on my dad's Tacoma truck (starter kill) a while back. I spent almost an hour and a half just trying to find another relay replacement at the local auto parts store. Fortunately for him, I was not out of town or else he would have to leave his truck at work over the weekend. Ever since then I have been skeptical about how trusty relays are.

None the less, these are all valid, yet respectable, points and opinions. This was just a thread started as a way to help keep your vehicle safer when youre budgeting. Whether its a toggle switch or relay, either just as effective and reliable as the other, it will do the job and help with the deterent of the cold hearted humans we call thieves.

if you want a really simple fuel pump kill switch its as easy as cut one wire and and hook up 2 grounds. iv done it in a few cars so far and its the easiest one iv done. if anyone is intrested i can tell you how to do it in a eg. id have to look into a few other cars to do it. im shure i can look at a friends car and see about a ek and a ef. just let me know and ill walk you thru it. just pm me and ill let you know.
