TOOLS/Materials Needed:
- Philips screwdriver
- Slotted screwdriver
- Small screwdriver
- can of adhesive spray (3M)
- plastic Bondo spreader
- scissor
- razor blade
- piece of cardboard
1. First, of course, is to remove the targa top from the vehicle and lay it on a big piece of cardboard to protect the paint. (I used a car cover instead)
2. Remove the small screw covers on both handles. Remove the screws with a Philips head screwdriver.
3. Remove the (3) trim screws on the rear section of the top.
4. Pry up the two cover pieces on each corner.
5. Use a slotted screwdriver and pry up the (2) side trim pieces and the front trim piece.
6. Pry and remove black trim push button. Also, remove the rubber black trim at the rear section.
7. Using a razor blade, carefully remove the old leather cover from the paneling.
8. Lay your fabric onto the paneling and cut it to size.
*** Make sure to cut 1” extra around the entire panel***
9. Spray the paneling with the adhesive spray about 2 coats, not too much though.
10. Lay the fabric onto the panel and smooth out any wrinkles with the spreader.
11. Cut small slits of where the trim screws and plug will go into.
12. Installation is reverse.
I hope this helps!!!
