Basic description of products:

Alarm - A typical alarm protects the car by sensing the open of a door or trunk. It also senses if someone hits the car with a fist or a bumper. The parking lights flash and the provided siren starts to wail.

Alarm/Keyless - This is the same as an alarm, but adds keyless entry. If your car does not come with power locks, I can add an actuator to each door you'd like. This service does cost extra.

Alarm/Keyless/Remote start - This is the same as above, but adds remote start. There are a couple of products that are made specifically for manual transmissions. For remote start to work, you MUST purchase one of these units. This is a safety precaution to protect you and those around you.

Audio services - I can also install any radio, speaker, amp sub combination you desire. I've been doing audio longer than security, so I'm pretty proficient at that as well.

------------------------------

Optional features:

Tilt sensor - Exactly as it says. It is designed to detect the unauthorized lifting/jacking of the vehicle. It is all digital with nothing ever to adjust. The part number is DEI 507m.

Back up battery - If someone was to unhook the OEM battery, this unit powers the alarm for a breif time. This also works for those with relocated batteries. The part number is DEI 520t.

Headlight flash - With a relay I can make the headlights illuminate for 30 seconds when the alarm disarms, when you turn the car off (great for coming home at night), and they will flash when the alarm triggers. This is VERY effective late at night. Not reccomended for those with HIDs

Fuel pump kill - With a relay, if the alarm is triggered, it kills power to the fuel pump. No fuel pump, no fuel.

Door lock actuators - This is used for cars that do not come with power locks. You need one per door that you would like controlled. Most people just want the driver's door done, since they travel alone. The part number is DEI 524n or DEI 524t. Either will work.

Hoodpin - This is installed to detect the unauthorized opening of your hood. Only remote start units come with this.

-----------------------------------------

Travel fees and requirements:

Read this CAREFULLY!

If I travel to your location, I charge $25 and 15 cents per mile, both ways. I mapquested Asheville and it gave me a 260 mile trip. With that, it would be 260 X .15 X 2. What comes to $78 plus $25. I'd round that down to $100 extra for me to go to Asheville and do an install. The wise thing to do would gather a group of 2 or more and split this additional cost. If you'd like an estimate, I am located in Linden, NC. My zip code is 28356.

If I have to travel more than 3 hours to you, depending on the install, I will need a place to spend the night. A couch will suffice. I don't drink, smoke, party or do drugs so there will be no issues out of me.

I will need a shelter or a garage big enough to pull your car in and open the doors.

I will need electricity.

Please vacuum your car prior to me getting there. I don't want to work in a fast food garbage can. The exterior can be covered in mud for all I care, I just ask the inside where I will be working be clean. It does'nt have to be detailed, just free of food and diapers...lol

-------------------------

Please be specific when inquiring about pricing.

Thanks!

Common Questions and Answers:

- Where do I get an alarm and the parts from?

- I reccomend getting one from an authorized dealer. Some shops will sell you just the alarm, some won't. You can purchase them online from several sites. Try and get one from that offers a warranty. DEI does not warranty any product online, but some online shops do. I do not sell anything but my service. I do this to insure you get the best possible deal. You might know someone who can hook you up with product. I also prefer this so if something goes wrong with the product, you will already have all the paperwork. I will not work with any refurbished or used items.

- I want an alarm, how does this work?

- Once you have gathered up all your parts and they are in your hands, contact me and we will set up an appointment.

- Can I go back in and add stuff later?

- I prefer not to, but yes I can. I rather just do it all at once, especially if there is travel involved. If I have to travel, you will be paying for traveling fees again.

- What if there is a problem after you leave?

- Call me. I have walked a couple of customers through issues (some non-alarm related) over the phone. I recently had to swap out a defective brain for a customer. He brought the vehicle to me and I put the new brain in, re-programmed his old remote and changed some simple settings. Since he brought it to me, there was no labor charge whatsoever.

- I read this, and now I want to do this, how do I pay you?

- If you are coming to me, you pay the full amount in cash when you arrive. If I am traveling to you, You pay me in full ahead of time via paypal, plus the paypal fees. This will be NON-REFUNDABLE. The reason for this is simple. If I drive all the way to Charlotte to install the alarm, and you don't have the full amount or come up with some sob story, the work will not get done and I will have wasted my time. I hope you understand.

- Can you fix my current alarm? It's acting wonky and I want it fixed.

- No. I don't go behind and fix other people's installs. If you have an alarm currently installed and are getting a new one, I charge a small fee to remove the current one. My goal is to leave the car with it looking better than stock.

- What brands do you deal with?

- I only work with DEI brands. This is Viper, Python, Clifford and a few small others. I can work with others, but I prefer not to. I will charge more to work with other brands.

Here are some links with descriptions of their products.

Viper 350HV

Great little alarm with keyless entry. Real basic but effective. If you don't have power locks, I can add them for an additional charge. See the post above or those details. This would be the most basic alarm. Just use the supplied siren, starter kill, and door/trunk triggers. I could add a hood pin and flashing headlights, but as posted above, it would cost extra.

Viper 5002

Ok, so you want a 2 way alarm to let you know when something is going down? This is a good start. This comes with a 2 way keypad and a basic keypad. I can do a basic install on this one, but if you're using this kind of alarm, you're ready to go the more elaborate setup. This can do horn honk, headlight flash, and of course keyless, etc. This would be a great candidate for a stealth install.

Viper 5901

Want all the above and remote start on your 5 speed? This is it. Tons of features, but the best thing is this is designed to work with manual transmissions. It has safety features built in so you can't launch the car if it remote starts. This has 2 GREAT keypads that are very slim, easy on battery life and look like OEM units. I have this exact alarm on my ep3 and love it. This would do best as a stealth install.

These are the 3 most common alarms I reccomend. Of course they make others, and I will install any DEI product, but these 3 are the ones I reccomend. Keep in mind NONE of these units come with tilt sensor or backup batteries. They are extra and explained in the post above.

BEFORE YOU PM ME, READ THIS!

Please be descriptive when asking for a quote. Sending me a pm like this: "How much for an alarm?" is a waste of both our time. Thats like walking into Phantasm and asking Nam for a tire.

Please include your make, model and year. Do you have power locks? If no, do you want them? What level security do you want? By doing this, I can get you a more accurate quote the first time around. If you'd like me to call you, shoot me a contact number and I'll call you (please give me a timeframe, as I know some people work late and sleep during the day).

I competed with Alan for years on the dB Drag, Whitlee, and NSPL sound off circuits. (since what? 2000 or so)

His work is top notch guys! I do not know of any shops that can match Alan. His wiring is meticulous with wonderful attention to detail. Definitely a wiring and installing GURU and generally just an easy as hell person to get along with.

PS, the wife loves the new CD unit in her Supra.

Bump for Alan's alarm setups!! Guys/Gals his work is top-notch and he is always so helpful if you have a question or problem. If you can't get your car to him then I would definately pay the traveling expenses, immensely worth the $$$.
