After reading my eg hatch alarm thread on HT, and having two cars stolen, Jeff sent me a PM. He said he wanted something JUST like the alarm on my eg hatch. I let him know what was needed, he bought everything, and headed East.

The car:



It's not much to look at, but this is the first modification of the car. There are some pretty serious plans ahead, and he wanted to make sure it will stick around to get done.

Jeff got the usual, with a few cool things. I added actuators, which you guys have all seen before, but he also got a DEI audio sensor. This small mic detects the sounds of breaking glass. So, if someone was to smash a window, this goes off. It also allows the shock sensor to be set at a reasonable level so it is not trying to detect breaking windows.

I put the mic here, in the console. For some reason, i was super thrilled with this location. It's better than my own, because it is in the center of the car. Mine is closer to the driver side. Anyways...pic:



Jeff also wanted the sirens in the AC vents. For those of you who have never heard these, they are disturbingly loud. Even though they are crammed in the center vents, the AC still blows super cool and freely through the vent.



And of course, the underdash shot, showing nothing to see but a stock looking area.

whats the mic for and what if he wants to add an audio console? is easy to reroute?

The mic is what detects the sound of breaking glass.

If he wants to swtich out for an audio console, it's pretty simple. The mic is connected via RCA style jack. All that would need to be done is drill a new hole and re-route it.
