Default The Driveshaft Shop cars

On the road again, I headed out West to go hang out with Tad and Lee from The Driveshaft Shop. They needed two of their cars secured, so I headed their way and got it done. Lee specifically asked that I don't post alot pics, so I'm very limited as to what I can show in this post.

Lee chose the Viper 5901 for his car.

It's got it all. Ecu kill, fuel pump kill, headlight flash, horn honk, keyless, backup battery, hood pin, tilt sensor, remote start and extra sirens in the car. When this alarm goes off, it lets the world know. It was painful to sit in the car when it's triggered.

Tad went with a Compustar unit. Normally I don't use anything but DEI, but Tad really wanted it, so we put it in. Along with his, we added actuators for keyless entry, a tilt sensor, and relays for fuel pump kill and ecu kill.

It was a great weekend, the people were great, awesome cars and some serious work got done. I really enjoyed meeting these guys and it was an honor to work on such well built cars.

I wish I could show more as I usually do, but following requests, I didn't.

Either way, these cars are going nowhere.

I would HIGHLY recommend Alan's work to anyone interested in getting an ALarm done. Just to show how much dedication he has, he got here at about 8:30 in the AM on Saturday, finished the first car @round 8-9pm after working non-stop and immediately started working on the second car after that. We stayed up with him until about 3:30 the next morning when HE decided to call it quits. By the time i woke up at 9:30 Sunday Morning and walked into the Garage.....his exact words were "Your all Done" lol and i couldn't believe my eyes.

Long story Short HIS WORK is TOP NOTCH and the dedication that he has really meant alot to me having him do these installs!!

Btw Alan, we gotta get some guys together to taLK about the Meets, Shows, Races and all the other events the "Team" is going to take over this Summer

I've already joined up on the Kia and Hyundai forums. I sent an email to the President of Hyundai's North American Division seeing if he will ship us a Genesis for the next Salisbury meet. I gave him Lee's adress for recieveing shipment.

On the way home I saw a sick Kia slammed on some TE-37s. We both pulled into the same gas station, he went to the pump with race gas (of course) and I scoped out his whip. It was mAd kdm. He said that Super Street was doing an article on him and the growing KDM scene in Western NC. I was tingly inside, as I was in the aura of a rising star.

After I finished with Lee's alarm, he went inside, leaving Tad and I working in Tad's hatch. We were just sitting there shooting the shit joking about other car scenes.

Around 2 a.m., and lack of sleep, Lee came back out to check on us. I told him about another NC forum with a section dedicated to Kias and Hyundais. He didn't believe that existed, so I told him where to go and it was on.

Lee sat there and read the threads to us as I continued working. In all honesty, it was the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. It was hysterical. You kind of had to be there to appreciate it.

And yes, there really is a Kia "scene" in this state.
