Default 97_Integra's alarm

After having one car stolen and reovered, he decided it wasn't going to happen again.

Starting with a bone stock clean slate, we went with the Viper 5901. To add more layers to the alarm, we added the backup battery and tilt sensor. I threw in a fuel pump kill and ecu kill. I wired up the horn to honk when the alarm was triggered and using another relay, made the headlights flash.

When this thing goes off, it's serious.

The teg didn't come with power locks, so using a DEI 451m relay and a DEI 524n actuator...it now has a power lock.

Overall, I really like the alarm. The 5901 keypad has a wall charger, so there is no more batteries to buy. The keypad has a solid feel to it and comes with a one way keypad as well.

You can adjust the sensitivity from the keypad, turning it up and down as need be.

Plus, news to me, This alarm allows remote start on a manaual tranny car. So yes, you can now safely remote start your 5 speed.

Thanks for the install. Works perfectly. sucks the other actuator was missing a key part to it. I'll let you know how the keypad holds up.

It's the same brain module as the 5701. I really liked the keypad. It's a tad bigger than what I'm used to, but the display is really cool.

I'm betting the range is better because it claims to have the SST technology.

I want one...

Thanks for that review! This is the exact alarm I was looking at and this helps sway my decisions indefinitely to the 5901.

The 5901 is not listed as manual tranny friendly. However, after dl'ing the install manual, there is program settings that allow it to safely do remote start on a 5 speed.

I'm not worried about remote-start, it's just the increased range over the 5701 does it for me. It just so happens a lot of the "good" alarms(at least what seems to be), happen to include remote start features.
