In our area there has been alot of small crime going on. The entrance to my neighborhood's sign was vandalized, some street lights were shot out and a neighbor had his utility trailer stolen.
Soo....seeing as how my mother lives a few miles from me and parks one of her crx's outside, it was time to protect it. Now before the shit talking begins, keep in mind, we're dealing with potheads, crackheads and bored teenagers looking or quick cash or a joyride.
The car is a piece of shit. But it does have it's bright sides. It has one of the best running B16 swaps I've ever driven. Seriously, this thing is baby smooth to drive. It has my old Corbeau seats from Whitey, my old black Slipstreams that has been on almost every Honda I've owned, a nice Alpine cd player and a Apexi Vtec controller.
Those parts along make it a theft candidate.
Enough of the small talk, let's get down to work.
Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you....."Roy":
She purchased the car from a guy in VA. She won it off eBay and we drove up there to pick it up. The seller said there was some minor body damage, an unfinished kit and the paint needed work. I was not expecting this...lol.
The ONLY things that made me decided to get it was how smooth the car ran and the flawless interior. She wanted a beater with a swap, and well, this was a beater with a swap.
First thing I did was vacuum out the interior:
And by using these the seat came out nice:
Stock under dash. Virgin and untouched...very rare nowadays:
Here's the stuff I'll be using. A viper 5900, back up battery, tilt sensor and 3 relays:
Horn wire exposed:
Headlight wire exposed:
Parking light wire exposed:
Door trigger wire exposed (in my hand):
Fuel pump wire cut and ready:
Horn relay (this will honk the horn when the alarm is triggered):
Headlight relay (this will flash the headlights when the alarm is triggered and when the car is turned off it will turn the headlights on for 30 seconds as a courtesy/safety feature):
Relay for fuel pump (this "kills" the fuel pump when the alarm is triggered, meaning if the alarm is set off there will be no fuel):
Everything unpacked and on the bench:
And set in the car:
Parking lights, door trigger and fuel pump kill wired in:
Prepping everything and consolidating wires:
Ground for all the junk:
All the power wires made into one:
These are all the wires headed up front:
Final view of the alarm before being tucked away:
Headed up front:
Antenna mounted:
Siren, tach (what?!?!) and hoodpin wired and loomed for under the hood:
Pulled through the firewall:
Foot brake wire (wtf?):
Headlight, horn and foot brake sense wire loomed and ready to go into the dash:
And away they go:
Valet button and LED brought into place:
Main relay pack taped up and a last glance:
Wires conneted and loomed:
Cut, spliced and ready for tape and loom:
And done:
Not pictured cause I forgot are the siren, hood pin and where I tapped into for tach sense.
I actually gave this one remote start. So, when she goes out in the morning she has a warm rex waiting for her. I'll try and get the other pics up tommorow if I see her.
Enjoy!
