Default How to: Keep the Type RRRRR safe

After seeing my other write up, Casey wanted the same thing for his RRRR...but more.

When the alarm triggers:

-Starter will not turn over
-Fuel pump killed
-ECU killed
-Headlights flash
-Horn honks
-Airhorns sound
-2 sirens INSIDE the car sound
-Casey's keypad tells him there is a situation....up to a mile away.

There is an alarm, keyless entry, tilt sensor, backup battery and 5 relays involved in this.

It's ridiculous, but with a car of this caliber there is no overkill.

First, the car:

I pulled the dash sown and saw a bundle of wires. The connections were ok, but the wiring was just a bit messy.

I pulled out the unnecessary junk, shortened some of it, and made it cleaner. Nothing major. I always do this to just clean things up, make it look nice and get a clean slate to work with...

Hood pin location. Chase did a great job on the engine bay. I put the hood pin close to the firewall so there will be a VERY short wire run into Chase's harness.

I opened the new alarm up and plugged everything in.

Put the brain and all the relays under the seat and screwed it down.

Cut all unecessary wires, hook up the relays and run the wires forward.

I will be updating this later tonight, so, feel free to ask questions, and I'll answer.

The newer tilt sensor like this one has no adjustments, it's all digital. Just wire it in and call it a day. The one on my crx has never falsed and Tony has'nt told me of any issues with his.

I've been at CC in Fayetteville for about 8 years now.

Final underhood shot. The hoodpin is up near the hoodprop. Very clean bay thanks to Chase. There is a siren in one fender and the airhorns are in the other. Casey installed the airhorns prior to bringing it to me.

Extra siren mounted VERY high in the dash...

L.E.D. flush mounted on top of steering column (see it?)

Final view of some of the wiring in the kick panel.

Final under dash shot.

All the wires I add that may be in sight are loomed or ran though factory loom or tracking.

All wires are soldered and wire tied together.

What I did'nt show was where I tapped in for the ECU kill, doorpins, and doorlocks. Honestly, I just kind of got in a zone and did'nt take pics of these. None of the pics are really important, but I still would have liked to share how it was done.

I tell you, when this thing is triggered, it is LOUD.

Imagine:
-airhorns
-siren
-1 piezo siren hid in the ac vents
-1 extra siren inside
-horn honking
-high beams flashing

It's simply ridiculous....and that's exactly what he wanted.

The air horns are fucking awesome, heard them a few weeks ago. He has no problems getting people out of the way I bet.

I've been installing professionaly for 13 years now.

The only jobs I do on the side are the ones we don't do/turn away at work.

We would never do this install at work due to the liablity of the kill relays. Not only that, we'd charge considerably more to hide the brain like that. It is VERY time consuming and just takes alot more effort.

I've been doing the side alarm thing for a litle while, mainly to help enthusiasts. Alot of folks just don't trust shops. I honestly know what that's like. Since I am an enthusiast myself, folks tend to trust me more, and I really want to help the community out.

I'm just soooo sick of seeing these cars getting stolen. I'm just doing my little bit to keep it from happening.
