Pop, 5-channel amps are a rarity and will work but you can get the same quality in a 4-channel amp. Are you planning on doing something in your car? If so, let me know. I can show you my current setup and see if you want something similar.

Rarity as in most people don't use them as much as 4-channel amps.

I just like having one amp for a clean install and less headache. I could run components in the front, mids, and a sub off of one amp.

If your sub needs are fulfilled by the sub channel 5 channel amps are fine (quality brands obviously) I myself would love a 5ch but for what id need itd have to be like 4 foot long amd 18 inches wide lol .. but alpine amps are nice .. about to throw 2 of the vpower alpine amps in my girls car ( small setup 50x4 amd 500x1 for sub) just hate they aint 1ohm stable 90% of the time lol

I too am new to car audio, never had a system minus a changed head unit in my old Subaru. I think I want a sub... but a little sub. I want a little bump, and enhanced low end, but I want to hear the speakers more. Any suggestions? Also, I will need a head unit, and most likely all new speakers all around. I like quality, but it doesn't have to be real loud. Any way to conserve as much space as possible in a GSR Coupe? I have band gear to carry around once in a while lol.

For people like you who are just after a little more low end I recommend a 5ch amp .. downside is most 5ch amps have weak sub channels ... and although I have never had one (yet lol) I've heard a ton of good things about the soundstream Picasso nano amps and they are very small aswell perfect for yoy want in to save space .. the a small 8 or 10 in a decent ported box and some decent speakers and head unit amd you'd he set

Cool. How hard is it to install all that stuff? I can damn near build a car myself (when I have the proper tools) but I loathe taking apart interior stuff cause I have zero patience and always break the clips and whatnot. Anyone on here you'd recommend to install stereo stuff?

Also, is there a way to maybe delete the spare and house a sub and amp in that area, so that I may still use my trunk to carry a relatively large guitar amp around from time to time? Like maybe a small amp, and an 8 or 10 inch sub, just kinda, down in there so that I have what appears/can be used as a stock trunk area? This may be asking a lot, but I just figured I would throw it out there. I have seen people do it with EG and EK hatches before. If that's not possible, are there speakers that can handle those lower frequencies sort of? Like ones with a freq response around 40 Hz?

There's plenty on here that can do audio installs .. although I always recommend doing it yourself because it's truly easy .. as far as breaking clips it just requires a little finesse lol .. but sometimes it happens anyway .. don't sweat it too much .. and yea install in the spare well is totally possible but I really can't recommend that .. I have never understood why people remove the spare tire from a daily driver for any reason lol ... although alpine has a type r 8 that comes in its own box and it's pretty small and I've heard great things about it so it may be something you want to look into .. and yes there's speakers that dig low .. idk about 40 Hz but the lower they dig the deeper you have to dig Into your pockets lol its much more cost effective to add a small sub .. audio can be very expensive ( if I recall correctly there's a set of focal door speakers that like 3-4k) .. it could also be an option to have someone construct a fiberglass enclosure off to the side of the hatch in the corner behind the tail light if you can't sacrifice a small amount of space behind the seat .. that enclosed alpine type r 8 I mentioned is only 5 1/5 inches deep .. it's like 11 tall and 20 wide but still pretty compact .. and it has a grill on it so you wouldn't have to be concerned about not letting anything sit against it when you carry your band equipment... if there's anything else ask away .. I will help as much as I can lol
